Retouching

Mark created this image by retouching a photo he took of his 40 inch long model he fashioned primarily after an 11th century Egyptian trebuchet.  There are features of trebuchets from other cultures incorporated into this model that Mark justifies under the "Artist License" umbrella rule.  He first created a blueprint and then constructed the model mostly out of maple.  The wench is made of poplar with hickory handles.  The sprockets and the small fixtures are steel.  He painted the wood to look weathered and to more accurately portray the proportion of the model.  The scale is one inch equals one foot.
